Monday was the first day of preschool for Dot and the first day back for Yakko! It was so cute to see them go to school together, I think they really loved it. Yakko loved being able to keep telling Dot all about preschool, where her class was, who her teachers were, and what all they would do. And as you can see from the picture Dot just adored being with her big brother and feeling as big as he is! 
They seemed to have a very good first day, they were both very excited when we picked them up. Dot was very exhausted though, if you can't tell! She needs her beauty sleep; she is the only one in the family that likes to sleep until 8 or 9 every morning. Since we had to have them at preschool at 9, we had to wake her at 7:30 this morning. Poor thing :(
And of course as always, Yakko needed his picture taken as well!!! I just wish for once he would give a normal face for the camera...oh well one of these days I am going to miss this !
So as a special surprise for when they came home, I made them a peanut butter cake. It tasted just like a reeses cup, I actually think the batter was better than the cake!! It was super easy to make as well, one of the easiest from scratch cakes I have made in awhile. Oh and the blue on top of the cake did say "Happy 1st Day of School" but with the hot icing it melted. The kids knew no different though! Dot kept calling it her birthday cake...I thought that was soo cute :)
